The latest update to Nerdio Manager for Enterprise (NME) brings a host of exciting new features and enhancements designed to improve efficiency, flexibility, and user experience.  Full release notes can be found here,  but here’s a quick rundown of what’s new in version 6.5.0:

Native Reporting (Public Preview)
NME now includes an in-console reporting engine, allowing you to review the status of your Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) estate and usage patterns without deploying additional agents.

AI-Powered Auto-Scale Recommendations (Preview)
Leverage predictive AI to generate recommendations for auto-scale enabled host pools. These insights help identify and resolve provisioning inefficiencies.

Multi-Region Disaster Recovery (DR) Support
Configure NME for active/passive DR or active/active high availability across multiple regions, eliminating dependency on a single region for management.

Auto-Scale Profile Enhancements
Host pool settings such as size, rolling drain mode, and pre-stage hosts can now be independently configured, offering greater flexibility.

Multi-Select Enhancements
The multi-select feature is now pagination aware, retaining actions across multiple pages for quicker assignment.

Shell App Support for Intune Devices
Deploy complex scripted applications to Intune devices using Nerdio Shell Apps.

Automatic Policy Backup
Enable automated backups for Intune policies whenever they are edited, ensuring you always have a backup.

Intune Policy Library
Access a library of best practice Intune policy templates that can be imported and deployed to your Intune estate.

Multi-Entra ID Enhancements
Target UAM policies to specific tenants and users within those tenants, enhancing management for multiple Entra ID tenants.

Policy Support for ASHCI Host Pools
Apply UAM application policies to on-premises AVD resources using the Azure Stack HCI platform.

Policy Protection Enhancements
Changes to policies now require confirmation, adding an extra layer of protection against unintended modifications.

RDP ShortPath Settings
RDP ShortPath settings have been moved to the RDP Settings page of Host Pool properties, aligning with the native AVD console options.

Dev Box Images
Azure Dev Box images are now available for selection within Nerdio Manager for Commercial Cloud customers.

RBAC: Nerdio Modeler
Users can now create and manage models within the Nerdio Manager console without accessing other areas of the product.

User Cost Attribution Enhancements
Improvements to the anonymization tool and API enhancements for better identification and anonymization of VMs and Host Pools.

Private Repository Enhancements
Select pre-created resources in your preferred region when creating a private repository.

App Attach
Windows 11 images can now be selected for temporary packaging VMs when using the ‘Package MSIX’ option.

Azure Runbook: Create NAT Gateway
With the retirement of default outbound access for Azure VMs, this script creates a public IP address and NAT Gateway, associating it with the given subnet.

Resolved Issues
Several bugs have been fixed, including issues with Azure Capacity Extender, host creation inconsistencies, and auto-refresh for user sessions.

This update is packed with features that enhance the overall functionality and user experience of Nerdio Manager for Enterprise. Be sure to explore these new capabilities to get the most out of your AVD environment!
